Som deres anden koncert nogensinde(!) var Penny Pascal inviteret til at spille på det smukke og prestigefyldte Warszawa Filharmonikum i Polen. I forlængelse af deres sædvanlige ‘modus operandi’ skrev bandet helt ny musik, der skulle opføres for første og eneste gang for det polske publikum. Musikken er i to ’bevægelser’, hvor den første henter inspiration fra gængse traditionelle danske dansetyper, mens den anden overskrider grænser og nationale konventioner.
På ”rejse let” turen havde bandet ikke plads til at medbringe en indviklet optagelsesopsætning, så albummet blev optaget på en håndholdt stereooptager i koncertsalen om eftermiddagen inden koncerten. En bassist fra det lokale symfoniorkester sneg sig ind og lyttede til indspilningssessionen, der braste ud “bravo” efter en hurtig hopsa, hvilket tilføjede et vidunderligt polsk fingeraftryk til indspilningen.
Udgivelsen er foreløbig kun udgivet digitalt og tilgængeligt på alle de digitale tjenester som Spotify, Apple Music m.fl.
For their second concert ever(!) Penny Pascal were invited to play at the beautiful and prestigious Warsaw Philharmonic in Poland. Continuing their usual ‘modus operandi’ the band wrote completely new music to be performed for the first and only time for the polish audience. The music is in two ‘movements’ with the first drawing inspiration from common traditional Danish dance types, while the second transcends borders and national conventions. Travelling light the band did not have space to bring an intricate recording setup, so the album was recorded on a handheld stereo recorder in the concert hall on the afternoon of the concert. A bassist from the local symphony orchestra snuck in and listened to the recording session bursting out “bravo” after a fast hopsa, adding a wonderful polish fingerprint to the recording.
