Den prisvindende danske folkemusiker Villads Hoffmann (guitar, Citern og sang) udgives sit første soloprojekt.
Flaskepost På Himlen er mit første soloalbum, og er meget personligt for mig. Al musikken er skrevet, arrangeret og spillet af mig selv, udover et enkelt stykke komponeret af J.S. Bach, som har sneget sig med.
At lave denne plade, har været en opdagelsesrejse rundt på mit instrument; cittern (oktavmandolin, 10-strenget irsk bouzouki, nordisk mandola – kært barn har mange navne), og jeg har gjort mit bedste for, at komme vidt og bredt omkring på det dråbeformede instrument med de mange strenge.
Musikken handler om lange gåture med kaffe i botanisk have, cykelture om natten i Gøteborg og at køre sporvogn i neonlyset. Jeg håber, at den vil gøre sig godt til morgenkaffen på terrassen, såvel som natøllet i lænestolen.
Villads Hoffmann er en prisvindende musiker på den nordiske folkemusikscene. Han spiller blandt andet også i Stundom (tidligere Elmøe & Hoffmann), Tailcoat, Vïik og Penny Pascal.
Han er vinder af Årets Talent ved Danish Music Award Folk 2015 (Elmøe & Hoffmann), nomineret som Årets Musiker i 2019 og Årets Roots Navn med Stundom i 2020.
Alle numre på albummet er komponeret af Villads Hoffmann, undtagen track 6. Som er komponeret af Johann Sebastian Bach.
Pladen er indspillet på Högskolan för Scen och Musik i Gøteborg.

Villads Hoffmann is an award winning musician on the Nordic folk music scene. He also performs with Stundom (fka. Elmøe & Hoffmann), Tailcoat, Víík and Penny Pascal. He has won the Talent of the Year Prize at Danish Music Awards Folk 2015 (with Elmøe & Hoffmann) and was nominated Musician of the Year in 2019, and Roots Name of the Year (with Stundom) in 2020.
“Flaskepost På Himlen” (Danish for message in a bottle in the sky) is my debut solo album and a very personal album. All the music is composed, arranged and played by myself, except a single piece composed by J.S Bach, which made its way to the album.
Creating the album has been an exciting exploration of my instrument; the cittern (octave mandolin, 5-course Irish bouzouki, nordic mandola – a dear child has many names), and I have done my very best to get far and wide around the teardrop shaped instrument with its many strings.” (Villads Hoffmann)
All tracks on the album are composed by Villads Hoffmann except track 6, which is composed by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The album is recorded at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg.
