19 Danish drinking songs
Singing drinking songs and toasts is usually something you do with friends and in good company – and not something you record and even publish.
Nevertheless, the choir Kammersjusserne is a project that arose from the joy of singing the night away with drinking songs in the company of friends. Kammersjusserne loves to share that joy, but unfortunately the Danish repertoire of songs for parties is dwindling.
Kammersjusserne wants to change this: “We want to strengthen the community, the joy of singing, the drinking song repertoire and the good party – one song at a time”.
This album has also been created in this spirit. On a starry night in March, six friends were sitting in the venue “Musikkens Hus” on the island of Fanø. The music from their voices filled the room with life and laughter. The night was spent singing, laughing and recording until they were finally completely exhausted. When the morning light broke through the windows, they had created an album of 19 drinking songs
